Testing footage on Premier
After our dance session with Katy, I only had one video to show for it but you can see the choreography goes up until the animated part therefore I wanted to try and put the two together on Premier. Once I refreshed on how to use Premier I tried to play around with the footage and see what happens, I did nit do much experimenting but the glitching parts were a bit of a concert for me because I was not sure how to execute them. But I came with an idea to drop in glitch images in every other frame back when I was trying to do the animatic. So thats what I did here, but at one point I flipped the footage around just to push the glitch effect and see if it would look good. I really feel like I made some progress with how to put the video together. Now that I got to see how everything would look I had even more ideas of how to develop the my ideas further. Also, since I have the timing worked out on the Premier project already, all I would need to do is just drop in the final footage and it would make the editing easier. I decided to treat this as my new animatic and just update it when I have anything new done.
Crit Session
Lately I've been in a bit of a slump with my final project. Mainly because I could not book out a studio for a while. But a general lack of motivation was big factor as well. We had an animatic crit session and I kept putting of making the animatic because I was really confused with what I should do with it, mainly with the live action parts, especially when I don't even know the choreography yet. but since I had to bring something to the session I needed to finally figure it. The animatic I came up with is a rough place holder but it is definitely something to work from. Annabeth talked about how the animatic can be a building ground for the animation and as we animate parts of it we could just drop it into the animatic and it will give it more context also a sense of the story. I felt like my animatic was really rough and rather a place holder than an actual base for the animation but the crit session definitely made me realise how much more I need to work on it just make animating and project management easier for myself.

Choreography development
Recently I had another studio session with Katy building the choreography. For the last month I had a major financial set back so I couldn't afford to book out the studio, so I made a rough animatic meanwhile and basically worked on anything but the live action part just to keep the project going. This was a good lesson for me because this made me consider the financial factor in making a project so it would definitely be something I would consider in my next project. It was really exciting to be back at the studio dancing and directing Katy. We managed to build the choreography up to the point where the animated part starts which I felt was a major step forward. Another thing I realised was in every dance session I need to leave some time for repetition just so Katy could get the dance moves down a lot better and just to leave some time to polish out the choreography. It was my first time directing somebody else into anything, especially choreography wise. I hope I did a good job, but I was definitely happy with Katy's performance and how motivated she was! I explained what mind set she should be in while preforming and what her performance should convey and during rehearsals I felt like she was capable of it but it is matter of repeating the dance to a point where she would not have to think about the steps anymore. But in a nutshell I was really happy with the progress we made, even though I did not film much during this session, but I made a quick video in the end to wrap up the day. I was dancing along in the back just to feel out the dance. Even though I look like an off beat non-bendy loaf of bread, it was some really good primary research. Also it was extremely fun!
