Choreography development

Recently I had another studio session with Katy building the choreography. For the last month I had a major financial set back so I couldn't afford to book out the studio, so I made a rough animatic meanwhile and basically worked on anything but the live action part just to keep the project going. This was a good lesson for me because this made me consider the financial factor in making a project so it would definitely be something I would consider in my next project. It was really exciting to be back at the studio dancing and directing Katy. We managed to build the choreography up to the point where the animated part starts which I felt was a major step forward. Another thing I realised was in every dance session I need to leave some time for repetition just so Katy could get the dance moves down a lot better and just to leave some time to polish out the choreography. It was my first time directing somebody else into anything, especially choreography wise. I hope I did a good job, but I was definitely happy with Katy's performance and how motivated she was! I explained what mind set she should be in while preforming and what her performance should convey and during rehearsals I felt like she was capable of it but it is matter of repeating the dance to a point where she would not have to think about the steps anymore. But in a nutshell I was really happy with the progress we made, even though I did not film much during this session, but I made a quick video in the end to wrap up the day. I was dancing along in the back just to feel out the dance. Even though I look like an off beat  non-bendy loaf of bread, it was some really good primary research. Also it was extremely fun!
